Soup Bowls With Handles

Now we are getting to the colder months of the year, of one of the things I really love to make myself all the time is a lovely bowl of hot soup.

The only problem is is that The bowls that you might have in the cupboard do not have handles and therefore you might burn your hands whilst moving it around which is a problem I've had before.

I did some searching online and found some great bowls with handles are useful for soup and I will share these with you in a moment.

Before I do that let me tell you a story about a problem I had with one of my soup bowls - I am sure you will find that you have had the same issues too.

Each week I get a box of organic vegetables delivered from a local farm. And one of the things I use these vegetables for is to make hot soup for myself and my wife. We also like to make our own bread and use this to eat with the soup too.

On this occasion I make soup and it was ready to be served, but I had a problem - none of the proper soup bowls were clean. Rather than be proactive and clean one of the bowls to use I decided to use a normal bowl - one of the ones that you might use for cereal.

By the time the soup was served and we were sitting ready to eat the bowls were way too hot for us to even touch and therefore it was very difficult to eat our meal. In fact we had to wait for around 15 minutes before we can even touch them and start eating.

We knew that if we've used one of the proper soup bowls, the ones with the handles that were dirty, then this would not have been an issue and we could have been enjoying our meal sooner. In fact by the time the bowl was cold enough to touch, the soup was also cold too. Just being able to use a handle to tilt, makes a lot of difference when eating soup.

We decided there and then that we would look at some more bowls that were suitable for soup, because we do enjoy eating it all the time.

These of the three products I found the best suited our needs and hopefully you will think that too.

Use A Soup Bowl With Handle And Lid

Using a soup bowl that also has a lid is also a great way to keep your soup and food hot and fresh. Its great to be able to pour in your food and set it to one side to cool, but keeping the lid on also keeps in the flavour and moisture when it is cooling.

It's also a great idea to find a product that has a good size handle on too, nothing too small or you will just end up burning your fingers again. I have found that the "crocks" with the large handles are perfect for being able to get right to the corners to get every last spoonful.

If you can't manage all of your soup, you can also use these in the freezer too - perfect for busy families.

I was looking for a set of ceramic soup bowls to buy and found that these are probably the best deal as you get 4, with lids and the handles are the perfect size to hold without injuring yourself. Click here to see the best price for this set of soup crocks.

Large Soup Bowl With Handle

For me, soup bowls have to be big!

But that's because I like to eat lots of soup. Another plus point is that the bowl has to be safe to use in the microwave and dishwasher too as I use that a lot when cooking.

It's also great to have a rustic style soup bowl too as this adds to that nice warm feeling you get when drinking the soup down. It always makes me feel like I am sitting in an English country pub, in front of a roaring fire when I use bowls like these.

I found this brilliant stoneware clay bowl that fits all of this criteria and is perfect for soup and even stew or chilli too. These are made in the USA and are in quite limited stock - so click here to see what all the fuss is about, before they sell out.

Ceramic Soup Bowl With Handle

If you are not interested in the rustic look and want something more stylish or traditional, then a bowl with a simple double handle will suffice.

When you think of soup bowls with handles, I suspect you are thinking of ones with one either side. It's also great to know that in this age of amazingly colourful kitchens, you can get great ceramic coloured bowls to match your cabinets and equipment too.

Who wants a boring white bowl, when you can get them in all colours of the rainbow! White bowls, plates and cups are nice, but adding a splash of colour to your dinner service will really spice things up if you are interested in getting something cool.

I found this set of 4 fireside soup bowls when I was looking for my new set and thought they looked excellent. You can also pop them in the oven too, so they would be perfect for making stew and meals like that too. Check out the price of them here if you like ceramic soup bowls in bright colours!

It's quite surprising just how many choices there are, for just a simple soup bowl with a handle. Check out the products I have researched above and let me know what you think and which one you opted for.
